Come search for Wild Floats in Westport this summer!

Where: Westport, Washington – Authentic Japanese glass floats will be released onto the beaches in and around the Westport area.

When: Begins on Fri. June 21st … goes thru Sun. June 30th.

This float release will be held in conjunction with the Westport Maritime Museum’s ‘Celebration of Glass’ and the City of Westport’s ‘Pirate Days’.

Celebration of Glass Event: The ‘Celebration of Glass’ will be held on Sat. June 29th from 10:00am to 4:00pm in McCausland Hall located on the grounds of the Westport Maritime Museum. This is a free event.

Contest to Win Large Prize Float: Bring any glass fishing float you find on the beach etched with “Arrgh!24” to the Celebration of Glass event on Sat. June 29th in McCausland Hall located on the grounds of the Westport Maritime Museum. Entering in-person at the event will increase your chances to win our contest for a large prize float (please beachcomb only one float per person). This contest ends at 4:00pm sharp on Sat. June 29th.

At the Celebration of Glass event you can meet with kindred spirits who enjoy beachcombing and collecting floats. You can engage with experts and explore a diverse selection of floats for sale, ranging from highly coveted collectibles to decorative items. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a newcomer, this event offers a unique opportunity to acquire remarkable pieces. Additionally, you can immerse yourself in a wealth of knowledge with books and informative resources on hand.

This is a family-friendly event where we encourage our next generation to experience the beach, go exploring, and to learn about all that it has to offer.
